New low cost micro drone - UFO Aviate

A new micro drone has appeared at the market. It's larger than a Hubsan but cheaper. They ask $35 but will quickly take $30 if offered.

The UFO Aviate (the little one up at the top).

It comes with a sturdy plastic cowling:

The brushed motors are quite large, with no gearing, and the propellors are standard Hubsan size.

It flys very well with the plastic on. Excellent power even with the load.

With the cowling removed it is rather sensitive but still great fun.

  1. It is great that nowadays, there are numerous drone models that come for an unbelievably low price. But, what people don't know, if you plan on buying a drone and keeping it flying for a while, the price that you will pay for it is not the final price. These cheap models are not that well built, and propellers, motors, and even the frame, will get broken eventually and you will have to order spare parts if you want to keep flying. I actually found a great article that talks exactly about that, the overall price of owning a drone. You can check it out here: http://mydronelab.com/buyers-guide/cost-of-drones.html
